For all #MPL Challenges, the Fort Carson MWR picks 3 winners each month (or one group)! Each winner will receive one of our PRIZES!

If you're the winner, they will message you on Instagram. The more great photos you
post, the better!

We challenge you to try one (or more!) of these for an entire week.  Too easy?  Commit to the entire month! 

1. Eat dinner with the family.

2.  A smoothie for breakfast is a great way to start your day, especially when you’re
on the go! We challenge you to add a little green to your favorite smoothie recipe
(spinach, kale, broccoli…). Remember, portion size matters and it is very easy to
make a 500+ calorie breakfast smoothie if it is packed with tons of fruit, juices,
sweetened yogurt and/or lots of protein/fats like nuts, nut butters or avocado.

3. Choose the DFAC or a meal at home instead of going out to a restaurant.

4. Choose a piece of fresh fruit for dessert instead of something in a box or bag.

 
 

We challenge you to try one (or more!) of these for an entire week.  Too easy?  Commit to the entire month! 

1. Do the Workout of the Day for 5 days during one of the challenge weeks.

2. Make an appointment at the Army Wellness Center to make a plan to reach your wellness goals!

3. Walk 5 evenings during one of the challenge weeks for at least 20 minutes.

4. Commit to stretching 3 times this week.  Not sure where to begin?  Check this resource!

5. Climb a 14er! (Plan your hike HERE)

GROUP CHALLENGES

We want you to get your friends, neighbors, coworkers and FRG involved!   

For these challenges, a GROUP is considered at least 4 people.

  • Decide which challenge(s) to take on
  •  Grab your group and DO IT! 
  • Snap a photo or video of your efforts, your progress, your struggles or your success.
  • Use the hashtags #MountainPostLiving, #JulyMPLChallenge AND add a hashtag with the name of your group (it can be your FRG, your unit, your department, your neighborhood name or whatever you want to call your group!)

1. Walk to Kosovo/Afghanistan! We challenge you to log at least 15 miles per week from July 1- July 21. That’s 3 weeks and a total of at least 45 miles!  You can walk, run, bike, hike, mow the lawn, chase the kids…whatever gets your steps in.  Remember that 2000 steps = 1 mile.

2. Hike or bike at least 4 different trails this month with your FRG, neighborhood or coworkers.  Looking for trails? Check out our Find a Hiking Trail section on our Fitness Resources page.

3. Go on a 20 minute evening (or right after work!) walk with your FRG, neighborhood or coworkers for at least 5 days total during one of the challenge weeks.

4. Volunteer with Friends of the Peak!
